future city

How does a future city work? How to create future cities collaboratively?

I acted as project manager in the „future city competition“ of the german Ministry for Research and Education to search for answers to that question. The city of Dresden is the largest city in the final round of that competition. Do reach that goal we developed a participation process to involve the citizens of Dresden into a co-creative process: we invited and empowered them to create visual visions and projects for a sustainable city. The idea was, not to collect their ideas, but to empower them to put their ideas into working mode.

I believe, that the transition of our cities is only successfull, when city administrations, citizens, entrepreneurs and researchers work together. That means to create processes, that help to bring people together and translate between their languages, their logic and world-views. That is not an easy work, but we did useful steps to develop tools, process-designs and stories to implement good practices. I want to help other cities to start or improve participation processes to transform into future cities. I am able to tell my story in an interesting way and to adapt my experiences as well as our tools to your needs. Please get in contact to check some cooperation.
